valve bodies might be fucked there is no need to know about 240 auto trannies per se...just learn about auto trannies in general...

and a shop charges about 800 (driven concepts) to do a manual swap and its even cheaper if you do it yourself...(never done one but its not that hard IMO)

autotragic holds up better than a manual...

no bouncin off the red limiter or missing a shift fuckin up gears....as long as you dont hit soccer ball sized boulders and change your fluids autotragic does just fine for daliy driving...

not for dori dori

thats the plug that is nest to the coil, It should say jeg's on it. That controls the ATF pressure to make the shifts smooth. If you unplug it, it just shoves it in gear each time it shifts.... kinda makes it feel like an automatic.... i'm not really sure if it speeds the shifts up or not, i've never tested it.

good job with getting a nissan. and welcome to the crew

I've done it myself, it isn't that hard to do, it just takes more money than what is available. I hate automatics, its driving dumb. Its like because your brain doesn't have to be concerned with shifting and rev matching and clutch and throttle control, there is so much extra "room" But because you are used to thinking about all that jazz, you need something to fill that space, so you get distracted with everything else on the road. Therefore, most stick shift drivers actually drive worse in an automatic than they do in our cars. I'd be willing to bet that if more people drove stick, the roads would slowly but surely get safer..... maybe.....

regardless, i need this auto to last me the next few months until i can afford the swap. this whole getting evicted and having to move a million times and having to save for a new place has sucked up all of our money faster than a 240 could..... and for those that know will agree, thats fast.

I have 5speed parts. Your problem sounds like my past problem.
Sounds like Torque converter. *well thats what mine was..
I have 5speed parts if your interested in doing the conversion.
MY current car used to be an auto. Not that hard if you have everything o_o

I have:
Clutch Pedal & Manual Brake pedal
Clutch Hardline
Clutch Master Cylinder
Manual Driveshaft
(you pull it)all for the low price of 200.00

You still neeed--
Clutch Slave and Clutch Hose (the slave to hardline)
TO bearing & pilot bushing
Tranny, Clutch and Flywheel Pressure plate theres a lot of work involved but read a couple FAQ's and you'll be straight
