This KA-T has me all bummed out. Wish I could figure out what the hell is wrong with it. I hate to buy an aluminum radiator for a KA if I dont keep the KA in it. Im just about ready to give up on it and check into a SR. Or blow the car up. The car would go back to NA because I won't be able to afford a SR for awhile. I have a brand new ACT clutch kit for a KA and hate to install it if I can't I figure out what is wrong with the car.

If you're making boost, you're not misfiring, and the car won't get out of the way, then I'd say that it's the knock sensor. Just pick up a spare one with the subharness, bolt it to the strut tower and plug it into the engine harness (got all that?). If the ECU picks up a lot of knock (either real, or from a bad sensor) it'll pull timing. With no timing, it'll make nothing for HP. While you're at it, make sure that you're set to 20* base timing. Use the FSM to check this.

Thanks Epstein. I'll give it a shot if the coolant sensor plug is not the problem.

Radiator replaced thanks to Tommy @ Driven Concepts. Took to car out for a drive, got on it some and then some and some more and NO problems with car. I don't want to bet my life on it, but at the moment I would have to say it was the coolant temp sensor having a bad connection. Cleaned up the plug, plugged it back and no problem as of yet. Fingers crossed.....If this was the problem, I can't believe that the coolant temp sensor not making good contact would cause the car to run as bad as it did. Only time will tell....

And to think Epstein suggested this in post #2......Should have checked into this better
