could be both.
have you done new plugs, wires, cap and rotor?
thats always the best place to start.
if that doesn't work, then you can lean more towards timing
make sure you are getting enough gas too.

yeah, i was wondering that as well.
fucked up meaning the car and rotor are bad is one thing, but if fucked up mean that it has a bend half way and the rotor points horizonatal and the gear is chewed up, thats completely different....
