Things didn't go any better last night. The gauge still went up so I am just waiting for the fans. Once I receive them I will drain the entire system, remove the T-STAT, refill and remove air and then install the fans. If that doesn't do it I don't know what will..............

UPDATE:

We installed the Felx-A-Lite dual fan kit last night and did some longer run times to see what the car's temp got to. I tested it before I drive a few blocks and after. The temps stayed consistant and I have determined that it has to be that I have the incorrect temp sensor installed. I didn't get a reading above 170 and we could tell based on other temps across the engine when the T-STAT opened and was working.

Now I just need to find an electric water temp gauge to use until I can buy my Blitz BLM gauge so I can know if we really do get hot.

Just get a Greddy MSS. It'll read your ECU's sensor directly, display it, and control dual E-fans individually. $185.

doesn't the dealer have an oe sensor? if you still have the original one take it with u so you can match it if they have it. i'm not sure but have u tried a ka (91-94)sensor? they may fit and i know they are one wire like the sr's. but if u are looking to just go ahead and put an aftermarket one on that's cool cause u will get accurate readings all the time. i still reference my factory gauge(just under halfway mark)just look at it every so often just for insurance but i have the power fc now so i get accurate readings all the time. just putting my 2 cents in to help you out, always willing to help out a fellow 240 owner. later man!

I need the OEM KA S14 sensor that I no longer have. I just realized I have the SR S14 sensor in the car. I made the mistake so all I should have to do it get one and replace it. I assume they are both the same size, anyone know?

I relaly like that Greddy unit, I think I will get it but does anyone know if it can only display one thing at a time?

go to nissanclub.com and there is a big parts cross reference list. says you can put a ka24de sensor in an sr but it's by chassis not motor. but doesn't say which temp sensor though. must be for the other one cause that would be for a different ecu. i think the one to the dash is universal for all chassis. well i'm no expert but i'll keep trying to help.lol also search 240sx parts cross reference temp sensor..some alternative ideas on that search as well..later!

Well I still have the break in period so I know my limits.

I can't wait to really drive this thing again. It has been since March of 2006 since the car ran somewhat right.
