Default Has anyone ever built KA24E-T NEED ADVICE...

Okay some of you may know my 240 is up for sale on CFS. But i'm not getting the offers i'd like. I may be looking at going E-t on the KA. Just bought motor from ATK for 2200 so don't feel like spending another 3G's on an SR. Unless someones got one for cheap or wants to hook it up. I know Jordan Gladman makes a kit for it i'm all about bare grease and improvisions. Any advice?

I know i can get to 205 and beyond the redtop atleast thats what i've discussed in the 240 forums. Thats the only reason i'd think of boosting plus to see a kaE beat an SR. That'd be awesome.

its possible. you're going to have to basically build it just like any other engine. it would be pretty cool to see a single cam beat sr's. put them in their place. do the usual stuff, forged internals, and either find a turbo kit that will work, or fab your own stuff to cut some cost. once you get it all together, up the boost and see what you got. 10 pounds on a dohc will get you some 300 hp. shouldn't be too far off or the sohc.
good luck with the build

...and strapping a turbo to it won't void the warranty??? You got boned on the motor. Accept the loss and sell the car for what you can get. If you get enough to even cover the motor, consider yourself lucky. I hate to be the guy to tell it like it is. Sometimes you just have to make the best of a bad situation. Don't make it worse by turning the only selling point (warranteed motor) into the biggest joke that TR has ever seen (KA24E-T).

I take everything you guys said into consideration and yeah the warrantied motor is a large selling point that's why its in the CFS forum. I want to get a honda and just boost it. But E-Ts are rare. I wouldn't consider them a joke though. If a sohc can beat a DOHC SR20DET then the ka would be an impressive peace. Also don't wanna be like everyone ya know but money talks. Any other advice would help greatly and thanks for all the advice so far.
