Default boost questions on ka

i got a ka24de and i wanted to see how much boost i could put on the stock motor and drive it safely...also how much could i boost it for like a night at the track without blowing it...also if anyone knows where to get pistons and rods and crank and all that good crap from...i know these motors have weak rods and i eventually want to build it up...thanks guys

hit up ka-t.org for alot of the good answers. tuning will let u run up to 400 on stock internals, pending the condition of the motor and age.

for most, 14-15psi is max on stock internals, or 330-350whp. from there longevity is risked to a point.

internals are found at lots of shops, AMS, ka24de.com, enjuku, etc. just look for sponsors and searches and they'll sometimes have where they got them.

every time you crank it over you make about 170 psi in it.

i've always been told that 10 pounds was the magic number for a stock engine. 11 pounds was pushing it. it could take more, something like 15ish, for a few runs down the track, but to just drive around town you'd want to hang our more around 10.
or at least, thats what I've been told.

lmao u act like a KAT car LIVES at 15 psi... you dont build boost unless the car is under load.... lmao know what ur saying before u say it. when driving daily it operates like a normal car. it wont boost unless you punch it...

i think you miss understood her. she said run at 15psi for some runs down the track, which seems like load to me...

and your still going to make boost driving th car daily, i dont know where you get the idea that boost doesn't exist under normal driving conditions. its a question of how benficial the results are.
