Actually the pistons are the weak point, not the rods.Yuning is the most imoprtant factor in a KA-T.Dan have you heard anything about the T2 flange setups not flowing enough and leading to detonation.Im thinking about going back to KA-T and have pretty much everything to do so minus a manifold.

there are a handful of guys in Oklahoma running DSM ECUs on KAs making outstanding power on stock blocks as well. some have adapted the DSM setup and are able to run the DSM coil pack setup or something.
I've heard people feed me BS about how .64 T2 setups on KA's kill turboes and overspool them and this and that, but I've never really seen it. Yes, they are little hairdryers and heat up mor than a T3 or bigger, but thats expected.
I have too many priorities and needs to take care of on the car but im looking at some sort of bottom mount setup, T2 .86a/r and work with the intake manifold and head some for a response project. not to exceed 350 really but pack a powerband thick and spin it to about 7300-7500. i looked at gt28rs and this and that but when the time comes, i will consult the local gurus on that. i have yet to ride in a T2 KA yet, but every vid and such i feel they are like an n/a car. and i'm past the point of caring about power, i want a fun car. something like 200-250whp but feels n/a (like mattbacks car). but im rambling lol. i have lots of fun setups i type up all the time, just never the means to do it.
Lets say you've got the boost set for 15 pounds. I have no doubt that you would be like every other person and drive the car fast because, its fun, its fast, the car likes going fast, and hopefully you like going fast. That means that just driving around, you are going to be bouncing right around the max boost setting, which, in case you forgot, is set at 15. Now, add into that the fact that everyone that isn't driving your car wants to race your car as soon as they hear that niffty little blowoff valve you've got. So now you are punching it off the line at every other stop light you come to. I don't know about you, but I like driving so I'm in my car often. I would say I stop at 30 to 40 lights every day and drive at least a dozen relatively empty roads where you can't help but to go fast. That means that you are in or close to that 15 pound limit at least once everytime you gun it; which for me, that would mean that I would hit that 15 pound mark at least 50 times a day. If 15 pounds really stresses your engine, and you are hitting it at least 50 times a day, how long do you think the engine is going to last?
Now, how about we run that same day, but have the boost set at a much less stressful 10 pounds. That means I don't run the risk of stressing the engine nearly as bad, no matter how many times I punch it.
I think a few passes at the track at 15 is alot better than 50 plus times a day, everyday.
The least you could do is come up with a better insult when you are trying to attack someone's brain capacity. (its ok to ask someone to help you come up with a decent insult, we are all here to help)
Now I will also add that I've been told that 10 is the suggested day to day and 15 is the track day suggestion. I personally have not taken the time to push it until the engine blows, so I don't personally know what those numbers should be. It seems to me that I have these numbers a bit on the conservative side from what other people at saying. So I very well could be wrong. I also have no doubt that someone is going to try and be a smartass when they point that out....
