Default q45 vs. 300zx brakes

ok i know the plain an simple reality is the 300zx brakes are superior...but that requires the MC upgrade, brake lines, and the brakes them selves. the q45 on the other hand, are a dirtect bolt on affair. ive read that the q45 have about 30% more holding power than stock. in the grand scheme of things the q45 is way less expensive, and since i dont track, drift, beat theshit out of my car will the q45 be what im looking for?

thanks guys

i believe q45 are bigger and if they do bolt straight on and less expensive i would go with that since you dont do anything with your car i.e drift, track plus you have a ka.

well, yes i have a KA but everyone that knows me knows the brake upgrade is just to get a bigger rotor in the front for looks lol. better braking is just a added benefit.

I have z32 brakes on my S13 and they're the smallest brakes I'd run on a KA car. The Q45 brakes run larger rotors (11.8", I think) with dual piston calipers. Mechanically, they are more powerful than 300zx brakes because of the larger rotor diameter. The only thing I'm not sure about is the aftermarket pad availability and heat capacity. If I came across a cheap set, I'd do them. I'd say the Q45 brakes are good on any N/A KA or stock turbo SR that only sees the street or drift events.

No tracks? No events? Why bother upgrading????????
Just go with high performance pads if you want more braking power for daily driving. Better yet, spend your $$$ on better tires.
I have Q45 front caliper/rotor on my S14 with OEM brake pads.
The difference is noticable. Braking distance has shorten, and my wheels lock up faster. I don't hit the tracks, but i do like making U-turns. my car is my daily driver, and im happy with the Q45's.
Hard to beat this kind up breaking upgrade for less than $200.
4 months, and my rotors and pads still look brand new.

You mean the wheel space between the brake caliper and wheel inner wall.
That was my reason #2 to go with the Q45's than the Z32's

I'm running 16" wheels and the caliper only has about 5/8" spacing. Can't imagine 15" wheels fitting in there.
