Default what grade of synthetic oil for SR20DET??

Im thinking about getting Royal Purple. They sell 5W20, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40, 15W40, 20W50. What grade do you guys use on your SRs?? thanks.

10-30 if the engine is in good shape 5-20 if its in really good shape, and because the weathers getting colder

For Florida climate, 10W-30 will be good year round.

i wouldnt use synthetic it eats your oil seals on sr's or so im told and i use 10-40 year round and ive had no problems at all

well, theres really no reason to go with a lower wintergrade oil. If your engine is like most sr's, its got enough miles on it where you can move up to a thicker viscosity oil to keep the oil film around your bearings lubed for reduced noise and longer life. which is definately a noteworthy tip if your running your engine at high RPM's more than the evreyday driver. but the bottom line is: it doesnt get cold enough in florida to worry about. stick with a 10W-30/40, IMO.

you you shouldnt run 10w-40 cuz thas what xat told me to run?? awhile ago have things changed? what should i run in a black top sr
