Default S14KA into S13 Chassis?

Is it possible to swap a newer model KA into an DOHC S13 chassis and retain the stock harness/ecu or is there rewiring involved since the new motor could be OBD2? I'm trying to find a low milage KA in good shape to put into my GF's daily driver and I figured I'd have better luck finding such a motor with a newer year car.

motor is almost the same. I believe the ECU is different because S14 has more electronic sh*t.
you can google or nissan forums search easily on this stuff.

There's a couple of things and a couple of ways to do the swap.

Things that has to be changed includes =
- Headers
- Distributor (internal vs. external)

Those are the main things that you have to change out in order to get the car running. You can change the intake manifold to a s13 manifold, which I consider the right way to be done; however you can retain the stock s14 intake manifold. Using the stock s14 intake manifold will mean that some plugs will be left unused.

So since I already have a running S13 KA, I should have everything I need to do the swap? Change the manifolds over and the distributor and I should be good to go?

Yes, to do it the right way includes - changing out intake / exhaust (headers) manifolds and also the distributor, other then that, everything else is the same.

JimmyHat and I did this exact same thing like 2 weeks ago.

You do have to change out the Exhaust mani and the distributer.

This swap is easy....Also there was something with a pipe we had to bypass but i dont think you will have to do it. Also i forgot to thank Taylor for some EGR assistance.

On the S13 there is a SHIT load of EGR shit....dont worry about it becuase the s14 has NONE of it. Just plug in what you can and forget about the rest.

if anything the s14 has more egr stuff than s13. the s13 has egr, scv (swirl control butterfly valves), and a charcoal canister. the s14 has no scv, but it has an electronic evap system, which has like 4-5 more sensors and solenoids than a simple charcoal can setup (it regulates the charcoal can/evap rather than just having a can). not that any of that stuff is needed anyways
