I was just down at DC to make a payment and was looking at your car and saw a silver/grey s14.5 parked next to your car...... Lol once I get that shell outta DC and get it cleaned I'm doing the conversion and paint right away I think.. Car has no bumper or headlights so I might aswell make it a first step.. Btw I heard you paint cars from Ian and saw your work on the white coupe about how much would you charge for a Bayside blue paint job or mebbe even Fiji blue pearl paint job I wont be getting paint till around xmas time but would be nice to know how much im looking to save for it

I was just down there and picked up the car.... I didnt see you there... anyhow... yeah I do paint and body work for Ian at the shop. I usually go through him thats what we have set up. tell me which shell is yours down there and I will take a look at it and let ian know. as far as the paint goes are those colors a certain year make model of a car. I know paint codes not really names of them. and also you are thinking about the S15 conversion? and also which type of paint do you want... I know that sounds like a dumb question but there are many grades of paint. the cheaper brands tend to give you more balancer and binder and less color or pigment which takes more to cover its cheaper on the dollar side but when it takes more coasts to cover it will tend to need more paint. and as far as clears goes. there is a 50 dollar clear all the way to 400 to 450 a gallon after the clear, hardner and reducer. so its really better if someone knows what they want to spend and try to get the paint and clear in their range. thats what most of the cost is ..is for the materials.
thanks
Chris

Heh my shells the one in the back with the hood being held up with a broom stick primered black no motor/tranny and interior just sitting inside lol. I'd be putting the conversion on before the paint prolly. But really looking to spend anywhere from 2k-2.5k on paint for it to look right and not look cheap I know paint quality and look depends mostly on prices about how many gallons would you say it would take to paint the whole car including the engine bay? I'll get you those paint codes in a minute.

Bayside Blue = TV2 and Fiji Blue Pearl = B529P

I pulled the paint codes
one is cost code P(nissan) the other is M (honda) the honda color has the 1024 Galaxy blue pearl which is the same pearl coat I put on Ians coupe. Its mixed with the paint not as a tri coat method. that would probably be your best bet as far as a more "pearl" look without using a tricoat system which is on Ians coupe, but then again its a HONDA color not a nissan color.(lol)
I have to call the dupont jobber and get a price for the paint and the high solids clear. I prefer dupont chromapremier so thats what I will get a price on. also is the 2 to 2500 the total including the kit??? or is that just for labor and materials? becuase the S15 kit alone is a couple bucks..lol. let me know I am sure we can get something in the right range for you and if you seen Ians coupe I am sure you can see the type of work I do.
thanks
Chris

Heh its an s14 and the 2 to 2.5k is for paint an labor. The conversion alone is gonna cost me 2.5k+ t.t.... Yeah the fiji blue pearl color even tho its a honda color lmao would be what I would probably do. Lemme know about pricing I guess so I can start working on the money like I said this would be something for late this year seeing as I gotta gather 5k or so for conversion and paint. Heh I knew it was a Honda color I saw it on my boi's 05 civic and fell in love with the color tho..
