I dont understand where you get your formulas for RB's being more expensive.

I mean if you consider doing a well planned RB swap vs an ebay SR swap sporting all SSA gear, then yeah it might be cheaper to go SR.

But I guess it depends on what you consider "a ton of money."

It is about people who are never going to do AWD conversions, and other people who try to preach what they dont know.

It has been done in the US before. Some shop in Oregon or washington that likes to play around with crazy frankenstein projects. It was pretty much a hack, but it ran and drove. I would begin to attempt something like this unless you intended on making a custom chasis and suspension up front or else it will most likely just be a hack job. Adding drive to the front wheels on a stricktly RWD car required reengineering the suspesion geometry (and strength) to control lift correctly. That is just one of the issues

starting out costs are more for rb. replacement part availability and price are more for rb. Install parts are almost propriatary (mckinney motorsports, or make your own mounts)

basically the the non-conventional swaps rb,1j,2j,v8,vq,vg all require more money and time than the simple bolt in (almost plug and play) of the sr

If you think 14g's is going to build you an awd S14, you've got another thing coming. Several people on just this board have twice that into conventional swaps. If you're going to listen to anyone in this thread, it better be Charles. You can make it happen if you know a ton of information about the S and R chassis, as well as Nissan drivetrains. I wouldn't even start without a staff of Mazworks-esqe fabricators and a huge parts resource like RB Motoring behind you.

So you spend all that money, and what do you have? A chopped up S14 that still doesn't measure up to a real GT-R, 6 months of your life gone, and huge problem that will never sell for a dime. And then you find out you weren't the first cool person to do it.
