Default KA24E head stuck

I am trying to remove the head on my 1990 240sx KA24E and I'm pretty positive I have all of the bolts off including the intake manifold the header and the head bolts plus a few of the small ones here and there. I put a 4x4 against the head today and smacked it with a small hammer trying to just knock it loose...well it cracked the 4x4 in half without budging the head. Can anyone help me out with this one???

Im not trying to be a dick but i would have some one with more experence look at the head. If its that stuck your pretty shure about the bolts might not be shure enough. I had the same problem with a tranny a few years ago, turned out i didnt have all the bolts off even though i thought i did.

+1 you probably don't have all the bolts off. reference your service manual to make sure you've got everything.

check the back of the head, there are some tricky hidden ones around that vacuum hose routing pipe bracket thingy...the first sohc head i took off got held up on a little 6mm bolt in the back. pissed me off so much when i found it i removed it and melted it with the oxy torch. I need anger management (or medication for ADD).

well i did take out some 10mm bolts from the front and rear of the head plus the 6 or so on the intake manifold and the belt tensioner and the exhaust manifold and i also have all the head bolts out so i have no clue whats holding it on...im taking it off cause the pistons wont crank over...do you think i might have some real bad engine damage that may be keeping it stuck? also i tried to get a wedge in through the front where i KNOW i have all the bolts out and it still wont budge it up at all to get the wedge in there. I'll go recheck AGAIN that area around the head and hope that im missing a bolt cause otherwise i have no idea whats going on!

yea you shouldnt be having to wedge the head off. did it just not want to crank over one day? or did u melt the pistons?

I bought this car as a project car and found out the motor was seized...this is why I am taking the head off to see whats going on in there lol...the guy said he thought the timing was off and that it needed a new starter so I bought a battery and tested the starter and it was fine so I tried to crank it over by hand and there ya have it, wouldn't budge an inch. I then bought some marvel mystery oil to let sit in there and after about a week it still didnt move so I just started ripping it apart. Today I found one bolt I was missing so I took it off and the thing still wont budge and I know for a fact now they are all gone cause I jacked the engine up so I could see in the back and there aren't any left. The headers are off so thats not the problem and the intake manifold wont budge either. I thought there was a bolt missed on there too but there wasn't so I'm stumped...I never had a head this hard to pull off. What is the problem lol please help. I still can't get over that it crack a 4x4 in half...

was it overheated badly? is that why it's seized? Is there oil in the coolant and vice versa? because i've seen head's melt through the head gasket and forge to the block its gotten so hot...but it also left a hole in the side of the block... so i'd take off the oil pan first and shine a light up in there to see whats goin on...see if its even worth your time to keep fucking with the head.

Well I have no idea what made this engine seize because the guy I bought it off of isn't someone I'm good friends with or anything so I haven't really talked to him about it. I guess I'll try and pull off the oil pan when I get a chance and check in there. What should I be looking for exactly? Also, if I switch this over to a KA24DE, what type of mileage is the highest a KA24DE is reliable to? I want to buy a used one and get some miles on it before I go and rebuild it.
