Default SQR23DE-T 500hp. dyno, pics etc...

This car is making 500hp at only 19.5-20psi.

Dyno Video

Technical Information regarding SQR23DE-T

Quoted from Travis- (I forgot your TR screen name, sorry bud )

"Charles' car made 500.6whp tonight, at 19.5-20psi. The spring in the wastegate prevented anything higher than that.. Going any higher on teh duty cycle on the E01, resulted in erratic dips/spikes between 17-21psi. It was able to be dialed in to 19.5-20psi, with only 1/2 a psi fluctuation. The spring in the wastegate is simply too small. He's going to get a bigger spring for the wastegate, and try for more power in a couple of weeks.

All in all, the car made mid 400's on pump gas, and probably could have gone up to 500 on pump.. but, playing it safe, leaded race gas was used on the last few pulls. Timing was at 23-24* total advance, and A/F was a safe 11.2-11.4:1. To show how durable this engine is.. the car made 60+ dyno pulls today, and was on the dyno for about 12 hours. Water temps never got over 208, even after several back to back pulls. Heat soak with the intercooler became a problem though, so cool-down's were set between few runs"

Yes, it's got some lag... I am in desperate need of some cam gears.. There's a ton of overlap, which is making boost come on very late. Also, the wastegate spring isn't holding very well. I think the valve is actually cracking off of the seat early on in the runs.. and making it even more laggy. But, I guess it comes with the territory.. This is a QR that's been destroked (SR crank, 6" rods, custom pistons), with a R/S ratio of 1.76:1. Once we get our dual valvespring setup, we'll be able to go out to 10K or so without piston speed becoming an issue.

This first engine was pretty expensive... a lot of the money was spent setting up CNC files, etc.. but, to duplicate it now.. wouldn't be terribly expensive.. We're actually working on a N/A, high compression version, to be featured in Fresh Alloy in a few months. I think we could see some K-series type numbers out of it with the right cams/tuning. What's cool.. is that we can get 2.3 liters out of it with the AEBS sleeves.. 92mm bore/86mm stroke.

Wow, a QR has never seen so many RPMs! That torque curve does look excessively lazy, but it sounds like you've got that diagnosed. Do you always have guys waiting with fire extinguishers in hand? haha.

Good job so far!

on the pull right befor that one an oring blew off of one of the injectors and poured about a half gallon of 112 onto the floor pooling right around the wastegate.on the next pull i was watching the injector and armed with the extinguisher just incase it blew another oring and caught fire.

I can assure you.. it's not useless.. lol.. The turbo spools a lot faster on the highway! I took it for a spin today, and it rocks from around 4800rpm, all the way to redline. That's damn near 4K worth of useable power. Shifting out at 8600rpm in 3rd.. and you're at 125mph or so. It feels/sounds exactly like a Turbo RSX-S, without the cam switchover..

I'm amazed at how hard this car pulls though.. It would be a tough car to beat from a 60-70mph roll..
