Question Motor whistle at high RPMs

I have an alty GLE KA24DE all stock, nothing modified (except maybe exhaust is aftermarket, not sure, i bought it that way) but other than that nothing modified that i know of.

When i hit high rpms (over 5,500) and near closer to redline, my car makes a fairly loud whistling sound that what i've been told sounds a lot like a turbocharger (from people usually racing me with equal poopy cars). It doesnt really sound like it to me, i just hear a somewhat faint whistle. What i think it might be is some belts or something, but i honestly dont know.

any got any ideas?

thanks

1. pop your hood
2. start your car
3. put your head in the engine bay
4. lisen
5. make a guess as to were its coming from
6. fix what you think it might be

or

drive to a mechanic

rev the engine from the under hood and find the location of the whistle. It should be pretty easy to differentiate if the whistle is coming from the belts or the exhaust. belts take 20 minutes to change.

belt squeak or clutch fan doing its thing. If belt then follow what people said above to fix it. If the noise is the clutch fan then drive on or go with an electrical fan setup.
