And to get REALYYYYY In-Depth:

SR20DE:

* SR20DE private tuned engine
The power unit which reacts to accelerator work gently for the driver which pursues the running where the キレ only of compact FR sport is good, is inevitability. As for the approach which we takes,
(1) Improvement of the combustion efficiency with compression ratio
rise (2) Exhaust efficiency improvement of the high rotary limits with back pressure
decrease (3) In order to pull out the torque quality of the aim, valve timing & the リフ ト quantity It was tuning and the like, in a manner of speaking tuning technique of the orthodox group NA it did. The highest output 147kW (the 200PS) /7200rpm * maximum torque 214n * m (the 21.8kgm) output of the /4800rpm is not something which never chases peak power, it makes from the scene of the running of the sill beer be prominent to the last, it is not anything less than the result of aiming toward the fact that the highest joy is brought to the driver which at the same time loves the NA.

Compression ratio rise
You adopt the private piston of high compression type. Compression ratio from 10.0 is raised in 11.7, improvement of basic combustion efficiency is assured.

Private exhaust system
High as for the combustion gas which is discharged from the engine which is streamlined, it is led to the front tube via the stainless steel make isometric manifold which was developed with フジツボ engineering and research jointly. Preferring the exhaust efficiency in the high rotary limits to the manifold, you adopt 4in1 type, also the front tube has become private type of large aperture. Furthermore it has made the Otech version private item where also the center tube and the main muffler actualize back pressure decrease.

Cam profile & NVCS private tuning
In the high rotary limits to modify inhalation & exhaust both cam profile destined for volumetric efficiency improvement, the overlapped and lift quantity It made increase. On one hand, it succeeded in the high output conversion in the high rotary limits without designating the torque of the concave fast limits as sacrifice by administering private tuning to also the NISSAN individual variable valve timing control system = NVCS.

Private computer ROM data
The fuel oil consumption in order to support aforementioned tuning, ignition timing is controlled various experiments by the computer ROM which over again is set to optimum value.

Sodium enclosure valve
By high revolution conversion, you adopt the sodium enclosure valve to the exhaust valve which is exposed to further high temperature. Temperature rise around the head is made to lighten, rise of combustion efficiency is assured.

Private lightweight flywheel * & clutch system
In order that good quality of the response of the power unit which can by the menu above furthermore is raised, it starts shaving, the private lightweight flywheel (the ニスモ make) adopts. In addition, in order to designate power loss as minimum, to large diameter it converted the clutch disk, made also the bonding power of the clutch cover raise.

* Because the private flywheel is adopted, there are times when gear noise occurs from the transmission and the like, but there is no problem with respect to efficiency.

What kind of poorly translated Autech specs are those?? Aren't we talking about the S15 DET motor?

see i asked this same question awhile back and got no strait answer, i thought the difference is in the compression, but its not.

s14= 8psi, 370's, 8.5to1
s15= 10.6psi, 480's, 8.8to1

might not be spot on on that, but i know its not 10to1. thats the n/a motor. the s15 motor is either 8.5 or 8.8, but not any higher. i know this cause i make 250hp at the wheels on my s13 sr on a s15 turbo on 10psi. the gtir t28 will get you right around the same power, but won't spool as fast.

Bill you hit it on the head. I belive it's 8.5 compression on the DET. Yeah the GTI-R will not spool as fast as the S15 but I belive you can get a tad more power out of a GTI-R than the S15 T28.

Bigger injectors = 480cc = higher stock boost = different fuel map = more hp
