i have a ka-t and it wont start on cold mornings. but it starts like nothing after 10 am. so maybe its something to do with the cold and the moisture.
it has heat range 8 spark plugs. 1000cc injectors. msd ignition. any ideas what i can do? thanks

 

does it turn over? does it start then stall? sounds like it's in the cold start tune, 1000cc injectors are hella big. the heat range plugs wont matter on startup, but you probalby dont need heat 8.

what management do you have?

 

water temp enrichment on the ecu? are you running standalone or stock ecu?

 

it turns over but doesnt start. and i have aem ems

 

cyanide's sugg sounds about right.

 

check you rotor and distrubtor cap, also check your coil what you looking for is moisture in these areas. i had the same problem on my friends ka up in alabama where i go to school. VCtech...it was moisture in his dis. cap so we just replaced cap and rotor and the next morning it was like at 26F and it started just fine.

 

my old honda used to do this and it turned out to be the main relay...something to check.

 

well standalones take a while to crank up anyways...yea, just check all the closed loop settings that affect it.
