starter problem

Default starter problem

have s 13 91 hatch it wont start it has done this a couple times in last few months the starter is hard wired to the ignition cause it was a auto to 5 spd swap one morning it will sound lik it is shot and isnt getting anough power but will still start then next time you go to start qill try and stop after it will just click is this just the starter or what please help!!!

i dont understand why an auto to 5 speed swap would have the starter hardwired.
there is some other issue there.

Auto to 5-sp conversion needs the auto tranny lockout hardwired.

extreme,
Sounds like you have a bad/loose connection on the starter power wire somewhere. Check the positive cable that runs from the battery directly to the starter, the grounding strap that connects the engine to the chassis, and the strap that connects the battery to the chassis.
