Here is the break down of the SR20DET ECU's

E5 is from a 94-96 180sx black top 5 speed

E6 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop automatic

WC is from a 94-98 S14 Silvia

62 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia 5 speed

61,63 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia automatic

J4 is from a 97-98 180sx Type X 5speed


My question is that I have a Kouki Type X SR20DET motor but I am not certian the ECU that came with my motor is the correct one. The only identification on the ECU is a little red sticker next to the harness plug that states it is a G90. There is hand writing ont he ECU it self and MT is circled. Will this ECU work with my black top? I am still searching the net for anwsers but if you know if I can still use it please let me know.

 

well...considering that it was made the same year as S14..i am assuming it would work..

 

the handwriting is in japanese? with the handwriting and the MT written on it, almost sounds like it is an aftermarket ECU program from somewhere in japan perhaps. as if the writing states what it is tuned for (probably stock program, injectors/mafs), and it has MT on it so it could be the 5 speed version of a program someone sells like Mine's, Tomei, Garage spl, whatever the hell those shop names are.

im assuming it came with your motor it should work, or else i'd call the place you got it from and ask to switch for one that works.

only way tto know is to hook it up and go.

 

no the writing is in english and has BLACK TOP written on it and MT circled on it. I am still going to go through with the swap though and try it out.

 

By the way, S14 94-96 is WC. S14(a) 97-98 is NA

 

ohh yeah, well i have an ecu for a ae92 4agze. HA!........... um wait, does any one in here even know what thats for? ops wrong forum. heheheheheheheh , but i thought 97-98 type x was J5?
