Default Wheel flushness thread! yes? no?

I believe there was a thread at zilvia like this, and I liked the idea of seeing the flushness of wheels. However, most of zilvia is NOT in FL lol, and it would be good to see some wheel/tire setups in person, (IE nissan meets, drift events) as well as give people a chance to see eachother's wheel/tire setups.

Post the model, Camber, Wheels, offset, sizes, tires, and coilovers (some have diff. wheel clearances correct?) Okay, I'll start...

s13 hatch
Wheel Front: 16x8 +25 volk 2 pcs mesh
Wheel Rear: 17x9 +35 S.M. III 2pc mesh rear
Camber Front: roughly, -2* in front? (lol it's half way between maxed out and zero)
Camber Rear: -1.5*
Tires Front: Toyo T1's, 225 50 r16
Tires Rear: Pirelli p6's 235 45 r17
Coilovers: Tein HE

Yes yes lol im working on it... the lip was like 2 finger width's off the ground the other day, but then i had to change the fronts, which raised it... i still need to roll my rears a bit to lower it any more there.

BTW, nice pics

there's a longer thread somewhere about wheel fitments with specs. I'll post up a few pics later that I stole and branded with specs.

I've been working on the math approach to wheel/tire fitment for a while, but have yet to consolidate it. It's based the wheel/tire you have now, and where you want it to be. It'll be handy for people who can't find pics/specs of the exact setup they want.

One of the most important specs that I see overlooked is camber. On a 24" tall tire (my 225/50/16 should be 24.8, but measures 24.0), every 1* of camber moves the top of the tire in by 7mm. So, for someone that runs a X wheel/tire combo with 2* and says it's flush, If you like running 3.5* of camber, you'll need a 10mm spacer to bring it to the same level. That, of course, assumes that you gauge flushness by the clearance at the top of the fender.

I thought there would be a thread about this somewhere as well, but it's good to revive the subject anyways. That's a good thread on zilvia, it's the one i was referring to earlier.

That's cool about the math thing, I was thinking about it, and came up with some sorta crappy equation lol. The pivot point of the wheel with camber is offcenter (referring to the control arm's connection with the spindle), but how much is it off? it looks to be roughly 70% the distance from the top of the wheel. If referring to only the wheel height, which i imagine is what a lot of people go for as far as the whole tire stretching thing goes, that would make things relatively easy. But since tire sizes vary so much, everyone would have to measure their tires to get a good reading... Here is sorta what I came up with:

(.7 T x 3.14 x 2)
360

Where T refers to tire or rim height, that finds the distance that X amount of camber would move the wheel in at the top by simply multiplying the product by the degrees camber.

But what's hard about that I suppose would be finding a base mark to go off of. I would think somewhere around a 17x8 +25, 17x7 +13, 17x9 +38 would be nearly perfectly flush with 0* camber on the front, but i am not certain since I haven't seen it... Plus front and rear clearances are different, different tire brands have different size tires and varying widths for the same sizes. lol, lots of variables to consider... I just thought i would put in my .02 in on it, and hopefully help in the development of the equation that will end wheel flushness questions until pigs fly
