Default Possible future Nissan motor?

This motor is an extremely new concept to me and I was wondering if you guys have seen it and what kind of input you have on it. There are videos of it runnning in the engine development section of the website, but please don't post about this unless you have researched the whole site. I want Pro's and Con's of how this motor operates.

just like anything new it is gonna be expensive, I mean it would be wicked if those engines were sitting in 10 year old infinities or something, but because of the gas crunch and it brand new, that ish is going to be expensive

I think someone is putting the cart before the horse. That is a (very cool) proof-of-concept model. That thing isn't anywhere near production. I see half a dozen things that I don't think would survive mass produciton or 100k miles of punishment. Plus, I think the model is for companies to license their technology/patents. So, someone like Nissan would have to then design their own motor. We won't even get into vehicle packaging constraints.

Future Nissan motor? Looks more like a Subaru motor.

It did look extremely like a flat four subaru engine, but the internals are extremely different arent they?

The only thing similar is the fact that it's a flat four, and that Subaru once made a 1.8L motor, which is what that displaces. Everything else was designed/milled/assembled in house.

Do you think its possible with this design to get three times as much torque out of the motor? I am a tad bit skeptical about it.
