Default need some help

hey guys, i don't know anything about nissan 240's except they make great drift cars. but i'm posting this for my friend. she was on i-4 on her way to deland (goes to school at stetson) and she hit a few of the reflectors on the road. she says now her car sounds like an airplane cockpit and the car is idling really rough. she says it gets really loud in outbursts, but the tach says it's idling that the right speed. it's a 95 240sx 5 spd. bone stock engine, car's lowered a little bit. any ideas on what's going on? thanks in advance

umm...if she's claiming its loud from the engine, she could have punctured a hole in her exhaust, but if it's not related to the engine, it could be any of the numerous plastic mud/water gaurds found under the radiator, and engine, under the fenderwells...just look with a flashlight if something may be getting blown by the wind and forced on the tire (causing a loud humming) or on the road. Try to locate the section of the car that it seems to be commin from, and it will be much easier to help her out. If it happens at idle, id guess its an exhaust leak, but it could be something much worse.

I'd drive into a dirt lot...you can see if the exhaust under the car is leaking air (moving dirt), or if its big enough you can hear a popping sound.

Take it to rainbow muffler off of belcher/ulmerton. They'll do it for a reasonable price.

I'll weld it up for $20, but I'm located in S. St Petersburg.
