For all Nissan guys.
In your own opinion, are the 95-99 Maximas a lead sled, or a somewhat powerful beast? ive had nothing but slow cars, so fast cars are a mistery to me. i really like them and i might get one. i know the 00+ body style rides out because a salesman at a dealership proved that to ThaiLife and myself, as he got all crazy and almost killed us. ThaiLife can verify. So ima base my definition on fast on that car. Do you think the 95-99 will keep up?

Nothing wrong with the 4th gens. The 99 GLE is the heaviest of that gen, and the 95 GXE is the lightest. Once again, i refer you guys to the links posted before on where to get great info. There just aint much love for the sedan with all these nut swingers around here. The weight and HP differences between the 4th and 5th gens pretty much evens them out for a 1/4 time. And so far the only people that will speak up of being in the 11's is the 4th gen crowd. I wouldn't doubt if there is someone, or a couple, that are really close or in the 10's; but you will probably never here about those.
Those guys are more likely to just be content with being in the shadows.
The 4th gen is a little more mod freindly and seems to respond very well to little tweaks. Plus you can get them dirt ass cheap. Use the extra money saved to put some nice stuff on.
And don't listen to all the naysayers trying to doubt the Max. Be different. There is something to be said about a car that is a total sleeper, can carry all your friends around, gets better gas mileage than their cars, and is a hell of a lot more comfortable. If you like run with it. You will get far more life out of a Max than you will any other Nissan, and probably almost any other vehicle out there. Oh, and they are cheap to fix.

I love maxima's i love them from gen 1 to the new ones (except for the 85-88 style lol) 4th gens are strong cars, they're pretty quick for a sedan and handle well, and they look nice lowered with some nice subtle wheels. I have a 3rd gen 5spd loaded except leather, its been sitting for a while, haven't had time to redo the timing belt, but i loved it while i had it. Nice, fits 5, and has good torque, I say get it, but make sure you have one that hasn't been neglected-maximas seem to be either really nice because they were taken care of, or are complete shitboxes because people ragged on them and never serviced them. Goodluck, and post pic's if you get one.

My girl has a `98 Maxima and i do get to drive it once in a while. It is very confortable. Power wise is ok but a supercharger will definetly do it. I do think that it has potential. Just make sure that you spend the right amount on mods. It would be very easy to go the ghetto way with this car.
