Power Steering
Alright, so I know that my high pressure line of the power steering had a tiny leak in it but tonight I pulled into the drive way and BAM...power steering alllll over the driveway. Guess it finally gave way. I have another one which I was planning on changing out anyways but my question is...is there anything special I need to do/know before changing out this hose? I know I'm going to need 2 new crush washers but anything else? Also, can I change it from in the engine bay rather than having to jack it up b/c I don't have a jack at the moment. Thanks.

I don't rememeber what is required to fix high pressure PS. I replaced a PS setup once, but there was no motor in the car. I'm sure that helps you a lot.
And you're not looking in the FSM for what reason??

you got the same problem as me my high pressure line is sparying power steering fluid out all the time i have to put fresh power steering in it every 4 days. i have to buy on i think they are 63 bucks a napa.
I changed it on my s13.
just take everything out that is in the way, it will make it much easier.
There are two 10mm (I think) nuts which go onto the hardlines, be sure not to bend these lines! It was a pain in the ass to remove the old line, the nuts did not want to break loose.
expect to have a few busted knuckles

Awesome, can't wait for the busted knuckles. Am i going to need to jack up the car or can I access the hardline from the engine bay? Haven't really looked at it in depth at all.
I haven't looked in the FSM because I'd rather hear from other people how to do it or what problems they ran into rather than reading it out of a book.

I'll go ahead and warn you, then, that there are 10mm bolts that are kind hidden. If your car has a bunch of oil/grime build up, like most 240's, it gets really hard to find them. I completely understand getting real feedback on this procedure, especially the degree of difficulty on the busted knuckle scale. I merely suggest the FSM because it will tell you exactly where the bolts are. I personally don't want to spend any more time outside in this heat than I have to.
unless you don't mind hurting your lower back from bending over the car for extended periods of time, I say jack it up.. makes it much easier.
to work on it from under, you'll probably have to remove that under engine rock protector thing if your car still has it.
Just take everything out of the way.. intake, upper/lower fan shroads, clutch fan.. etc
