Well, the price of fuel isnt getting much cheaper, maybe a few cents down this week, but pricing isnt like 2 years ago. $1.35 per a gallon...I miss them days Well I too thought that the SR20DE came with varible cam. Im just wondering an alternative to the SR20DET. I love the KA, just wished it had a lil "punch" at high rev. when getting on the highway (previously owned honda). Yeah, KA with some internals goodies sound nice, yet fuel economy isnt getting any better. Ill trade my car in for a Toyota Prius and turbo that lawnmotor engine

Seriously, im just asking with my curious mind, im keeping my KA.

im a former se-r guy, and i loved the sr20de in that car.
very smooth, somewhat powerful, and quicker than a gs-r with the same amount of mods.
but i just think its a little weak for a rwd car.
but if you have a dying ka, and just want an awesome motor, that might be a little underpowered, but makes up for it in reliability, and smooth powerband, then get a DE
if ultimate power is your goal, id say go with a DET from the start.

not a whole lot of differences, but im all for preventing problems, and making shit easier.
