Need some help: Swapping out S13 KADE with a S14 KADE.
i thought it was easier to use the whole s14 motor and all the accesiores and just make it work. thats what i did, you just need to change the speed sensor on the tranny, and change the coolant sensor back to the s13 so your gauges will work right. and have taylor make you a harness so you can use the s14 internal coil. i have lots of ka parts for sale so pm me with what you need.

doh! forgot about the charcoal cannister. Yeah, that simplifies down to 2 lines; one vacuum and one intake. That's the only emmision thing I kept, just because I don't like the idea of running around with an open line from the gas tank. Well, that and I don't like the smell of gas under my hood.
When you pressure wash, use a toothbrush as well.
Also relating to vacuum lines, the S13 intake runners have tumble generation valves that the S14 doesn't have. Don't worry about those either. The back of the manifold will be crawling with emmisions crap. Eliminate all of it. It will simplify down to a line going from the back of the manifold (it's kinda hidden, dont' leave it open on accident) to the FPR. You might have to get creative when it comes to blocking off that big piece of iron bolted to the back. Don't forget to do the nickle mod on the exhaust side, too.
Also, speaking of accesories. I used the S14 alternator because it was newer. The S14 unit has a larger stud for power, so the S13 ring terminal won't fit on there. Just snip the ring open, pry it a little with some pliers, and you're good. I kept the S13 AC and PS, just because I didn't want to make an even bigger mess.

Do I have to switch the A/C compressor brackets? If I'm using the S13 a/c compressor?
