Default obd1 or obd 2?

I have a 95 240sx and I'm getting ready to get the aem ems. Whenever i was looking up the part # though it had two different ones. One for a 95 obd1 and another for a 95 obd2?! How do i tell which one my car is? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to nissan and its a little different then the Honda's I'm used too. Thanx in advance for any advice.

It's kind of wierd. 1995 ECU's have the OBD2 hardware capability, but they are running on OBD1. There is no message when you plug in to the OBD2 port on a 95.
Go with the OBD1 AEM EMS. By the way, where are you ordering it from, and for how much?

Not necessarily. OBD2 ecus generally have more capability, and if you can tune them, you can usually make more horsepower with them.

I thought in 95 obd1 and obd2 depended on production date. I know for a fast there are 4 or 5 different ecu's in the 95 models and none of them will directly interchange wiht eachother.

so if you get a 95' ka you should take the matching computer with it, because it wont interchange with others???

they will be interchangable...

it is RARE to find a zenkie that is obd2 most obd2's are all kouki

from my understanding of tunning obd2 ka's ther is a fuel dump at 3grand..this make for tunning a bit easier..
