280zx brake upgrade?
Anyone know what I can do to help my car stop better? Or at the least, prevent the HORRID brake fade that I get from even ONE slow down from 150.
I get this everytime I goto the track, after a run I have almost no brakes. The car stops VERY quickly, but less then 3 seconds after I begin pressing the brakes, they fade, and I have to push VERY hard to slow down the rest of the way. Can I upgrade the pads to something better? Or do I have to go with slotted/drilled rotors, 4 pot calipers, etc... someone?

seriously though, start with lines, fluid, better pads etc....than if that doesn't help....custom brackets?

Familiarize us with what 280zx brakes consist of. Rotor size and thickness, number of pots, approximate pad size (relative to something known, like 240sx pad). It could be that you're just boiling your brake fluid. Also, I don't think an OEM pad compound would take too nicely to a 150mph braking test.

thats too funny and a cheap shot at that. But get some good pads on there, ss lines, and upgrade the brake fluid. If that doesnt start slowing you down just rip the ebrake and drag the rubber down the road as well.

I saw online somewhere that Toyota truck brakes fit from early 90's toyotas. You'll have to lok on the internet but I remember a guy at the Z-club in fort myers doing it to his 240Z that was a sebring attender, it worked perfectly..

You mean the car runs now? And you have already been 150mph in it? And you have not been able to find any info on aftermarket brakes on the Z forum? WOW I'm not sure who's lost more brain cells. You for posting this or me for reading it.
