Goddamn. Tampa needs to get out of the 1990s and find out about KA motors and the research thats been done in the past year.
The pistons are good to 400hp. Ivan blew 3 motors at just over 400hp (ringlangs), so 7psi, 250hp, all bunk internet myth bullshit. 15psi.. maybe think about building up. But even TY has run that for 2 years, all stock. Then the rods. Ivan bent a rod at 30psi (25psi was 511rwhp). So that seems to be the limit for those.
Ivan, Daywalker, and Enjuku are all building for a 600+hp KA-T. There are numerous 300+ stock block KA-turbo motors running around, and more than a handful of built 400hp KA-Ts. For SR motors.. there are numerous 400+rwhp SR-powered 240s.
You all need to get with the times, if only to stop spreading rediculous internet myths and misinformation.

I know about a KA-T. I have one. But you need to do your own research. Go to KA-T.org. And for god's sake, don't post there. Just read.
And unless you or someone else swapped motors, your '89 has a KA24E, SOHC.
My website (in my sig) has info for a basic setup and what you'll be looking for and how much work to get turbo'd. And www.ka24development.com

It'll be fine with proper tuning. People with totally stock KA's have made 400whp+ before on FA.

And to add

PRO - TY's car has been turbo for just over 5 years now, last 2 at 330rwhp/15psi.

CON - Ivan at SP/Phat KA-T's rods were shot peened i believe in that motor with the forged pistons. but still a stock rod taking that abuse (especially the rather dinky KA rods) is impressive (and if a cheap shot peening vs. $700 crower/pauter forged rods gets you safely between 400-500)! dang!

The problem is most people think they know the differences between an SR and a KA and when they boost their KA they dont realize it does have major differences....most people think "Oh, I have 740cc injectors, and a good S-AFC tune" and they get boost happy and blow up because once you break a certain level of boost/power, ignition issues need to be addressed (i.e. as in MORE than just retarding the whole timing map...doesnt cut it), JWT or Enthalpy ECU is definately required, or a standalone for the hardcore.

PS - What 600+ car is Enjuku involved with? Yuki's red s14?

Am I the only one that's never seen/heard of Yuki or his car?! But yes.
Stock rods are shotpeened from the factory.

I'm sure I could match Yuki w/ my new engine but I couldn't live as a dyno queen haha

Way to clean up the riff-raff Jeff, let us know what's up w/ the car.

When i get my tax money back, im gonna do a set up for similar Horsepower but using the 4G63 injectors (440cc i believe), a GT2832R turbo, still looking for manifolds, probably make my own manifold, front mount, FPR, and a rom tune. take pics and keep us updated...
