Lightened flywheels are sought to reduce rotating mass. Power that is used to spin the OE/heavy flywheel is freed to turn the driveshaft, diff, axles, etc...

You have no need for thinking about this clutch unless a built engine is in your near future.

Has anyone ran a slighlty heavier than stock flywheel for the benifit of low end torque? If you had the horsepower why not go to a heavier flywheel. You'll still be able to spin up the revs due to lots of HP but would also unleash more 'truck' like characteristics of our engines. I would be interested in some opinions.

Matt, need to know when this will be available. I'd like to have it end of Feb / early March. Engine is done in March and I leave Tampa in May.

Here is the completed SPEC D4 CarbonMetallic complete clutch kit for the SR engine. We got ours in yesterday! We are actually trying out the non dual-diaphragm at first to see how these work out for us. If we need mroe clamping pressure we'll go to the dual diaphragm, but this new material should give us 460 foot pounds capacity with heavy abuse, slipping, and clutch kicking!!!

Expect another two weeks before the KA unit is completed and ready to go!

As a bonus, the KA Unit will have provisions for the 225, 240, and 255mm clutches !!! A choose your own adventure should you want it! This way those of you that want to run an ACT RPS or EXEDy can.

hmmm. well since i have a ka and exedy doesnt make a hypersingle for it, or at least thats what the rep said, i never looked for the price. so what is a ball park price range from stock dia. to a 255.

I will buy this clutch as soon as it comes out if i can have a really close estimate of the price for a 255mm setup. I jsut want to be able to buy the whole thing at once which is what i like about this kit. 255mm, give me the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, aligner tool, and TOB! YAY! gimme prices i have to save up heh.

will this heat up and glaze over or work better the hotter it gets??? i wonder if you could do something like that, just like racing brakes...

Mega holding force you say? Should work well with my M/T Drag radials. Wonder what will break next..................... BTW Matt if you can find me an Apexi metal head gasket sometime in the near future you will be my hero. It's whats holding my upgrades up at the moment. Looking for the 1.1. Will settle for the .8 if more available. PM me and let me know.
