Testing Waters : Upgraded Oil Pump Gears for SR/KA
If a hardened oil pump gear set, much like the deceased ProDrive's oil pump gear set for the Honda B series, were available for the rwd SR20/KA24, would you consider purchasing it when doing your rebuild?
Pros: Oil pump now made out of forged billet steel. Will not crack nearly as easily as the stock one. Flows more due to tighter tolerances than OEM. Can be cut to pull and flow more oil than OEM due to different angles of lobes. Readily available in the USA, not necessarily needing to wait to get a shipment in from Japan.
Pricing for a gearset as such would be around $299 retail. How many of you would be interested if this became a reality?

I don't know how Nissan motors respond to elevated oil pressure, but I needed a catch can on my old v8 when I installed a high pressure pump. Am I correct to assume that this gear is going to elevate oil pressure? If so, what do you therorize it will raise it to?
