ok, what is the differance between step 1, 2....

what duration will keep the torque down low but help alot on top.
i have a s14 sr if that helps.
i want to keep the stock turbo.
i have greddy fmic, turbo back exhaust for power mods.

i want about 300whp.

you more experianced SR tuners please give me an idea of what parts match a daily drivin car.

 

Cams will only do you any good with a Rom tune. Otherwise it just moves your power curve higher up. If you have S14 SR then you have to keep in mind you have VTC. Which will not work with cams larger than 256 step ones. If you want more you will have to move to an S13 intake cam gear and bolt. or just bolt I dont rember. But then you lose VTC so its a trade off. Step ones = 10.5 lift Step 2 = 11 lift. Step ones are almost always recomend unless your going for 500hp, in which case the step 2's are recomend, with a built head including vavle springs, Ti retainers, and RAS.

 

vtc makes cam choice much more complicated.

my lack of vtc makes 264 step 1's the obvious choice.

you on the other hand... god only knows... i'll let someone with some actual experience in those low port s14 motors answer.

dude Andy, just go with the stock cams and get the car going, you'll have power mods so its not like the car will be slow, you can figure out your cam choice later after you've done alittle bit or research.
