ok....my car is for sell cause i want out of the front wheel drive sceen...and then i drove my friends 5speed TwinTurbo 300 and I fell in love....
Anyway i was going to get a Datsun 280 before i bought the GsT (the only thing that made me get the GsT wat the turbo.... stupid i know)...so ive done a lot of research on the Datsun 280 and i found another one for sell, plus it turbo so bonus, but i thought i would complete my research before i completely make up my mind by asking you guys what you have to say about the 280
Any comits about it (up sides, down sides, factor recalls, reliability, ect.)

 

worst rear suspension evar!! that and lots of rust.

 

yeah...i know....but suspension is cheep and this one only has two spec size rust spots....its mint and i magnet checked the body (no bondo)

 

280z's are strong cars if they've been kept up with. L28's are an awesome engine to modify n/a or forced induction. Can i ask how you are comparing a Z32 TT to an old rusty 280z with body roll that would make oprah seem fit?

 

lol not really comparison it just sealled the decision of RWD being so much more fun than FWD....but i love the old 280 body style so much more...and if im not mistaken they way less dont they

 

what other cars have you considered?

 

well i wanted a 260 but ive only found one in the past year and it had rust all in the hatch area and the old school three hundreds (i have a thing for the onld nissans)......as far as RWD only nissans really cause ive heard of their reliability but i looked at MR2s but id rather a front mount motor rather than mid

 

dude...the hotness: 510 with an SR.
There's a 69 datsun truck for sale near me...i was thinking about making that +SR or KaT...but they wanted 2k for it, and its not even in that great of shape...but it has those 510 headlights...i love those!

 

Buy the 280zx turbo! Like everyone said, rust is usual for an older Z, how well does it really run, how many miles are on the motor, and the rear suspension isn't the best but can be changed. They have no LSD. Yes the 280zx weighs a hell of a lot less than a 300zx. BTW is this a slicktop or T-top??

 

i say go for the 280 man, beautiful cars.
