Angry after rebuild, 240 still runs like crap

I just rebuilt my once cam ka and it still runs like shit. It has a hard cold start, and the idle is rough until it warms up, it idles anywhere from 800 to 2500 rpms, it also backfires while idleing and driving. When I press the gas pedal it lags until 2500rpms. I can feel a major loss of power when it drives, it's really sluggish. I checked the ignition timing and the timing chain and gears and there are fine. I've checked all vacuum lines, removed the egr. I replaced the spark plugs, wires and coil, along with a new tps and mafs. The only code im throwing is a code 13(engine temp sensor) I don't know if that could do it. This damn 240 is being a bastard HELP ME!!!!:bbb: :bbb: :bbb: :bbb: Im going crazy

The engine temp sensor if I remember will make your car do ALL of the above mentioned. Its a cheap fix as well. With SR's the engine temp sensor does some of the above mentioned as well with a bad sensor.

I am just curious why you didn't swap a dual cam in it instead of rebuilding it

as i said in my post that was deleted, seriously, cut your losses and swap it.

i use to think it would be cool to have a good running single cam, and whatever, but the motors are shit. even with my single cam in top running order (or as close as possible) it still didnt run well, and was pretty finicky.

best bet- swap it... you can get a ka24de for around 200$, and find the rest of the stuff in a junkyard.

I will try the temp sensor, i don't have the funds to swap a motor, unless we could start a get this kid a new motor fund, btw what would i need to swap a dual cam motor, harness, ecu, throttle cable, move p/s lines, and the motor, anything else??
