Hey Dan, my wastegat is getting a reading from the compressor housing and the boost gauge is reading from the FPR vacuum line. I'm gonna put the boost guage on the compressor housing to see if I get a different reading or if it's the same as I have been getting. I plan to buy another KA motor to sit in my garage and piece together until it's done then swap them out. Good luck on your project, I know now that it is definately worth the wait and very rewarding when you can do everything yourself *with "a little" help* of course.

You can't tune by EGT sensor alone (temps rise under too rich or too lean conditions).

After Secret Services fell through, I've used XAT as my dyno. SAFC tuning is too easy, they can hook you up.

Congrats on the KA-T!!!

Haha at Drew. NEVER!
My setup:
Engine around 97,000 miles :o
T3 turbo from XR4Ti. A little small but it'll work for $70 A/R .48
S-AFC
370cc injectors
255lph Walbro fuel pump
SSAutochrome manifold and wastegate <--- I think the build quality is there, but time will tell.

JohnnyRaceCar.com FMIC
Will install Blitz BOV
Timing retarded ~16 +/- until I get a tune
S-AFC set at -27% across the rpm range for everything until I get it tuned

Home made downpipe and intercooler piping, was able to retain factory battery in the factory location. I'm so happy bout that.

All of my emissions are hooked up and running properly except for the EGT pickup tube until I find flexible hose to withstand the heat of the the exhaust.

LEFT TO DO:
Tune
Step the plugs down a heat range or two?
Engine Ice radiator coolant, hear great things about it running cooler (motocross racers use it).
Maybe different thermostat?
Heat wrap the MC and Powersteering resevoir.

That's it, sorry I didn't post pics last night but my dog needed stitches again last night. Dumb dogs! Maybe I'll get around to it tonight.

No, he has the top mount one with external wastegate. SSAC makes a couple of different ones that fall apart after a few months

oh well if it does, nothing a welder won't fix. It actually looks like it will hold up. The head flange is nice and thick and they put a brace between the turbo mount and the head flange to help support the weight. I had my cousin who is a welder by profession look at it and he said there is no reason it shouldn't hold up. If heat is what is supposed to play a factor in its poor quality I don;t get it because it's SS. That thing will take a lot more heat that an aluminum head will. What makes them so bad, fall apart, etc??
