Default Irregular Idle

Just started happening a couple of days ago. When I push in the clutch the idle drops to like 400-500 and then will go back up which never really seemed to be a problem. Today when I started my car it wouldn't stay started until i gave it just a little bit of gas. Once started it would idle normally It normally idles about 650-700, should i bump it up a hair or what is wrong? Thanks, Sean

sounds like you need a tune up. fuel filter, distrib. car and rotor, spark plugs, plug wires, oil change and oil filter should take care of most of the job.

Fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires are new (like 2 months old) and i just changed my oil last week so that takes care of the oil and filter. So all thats left is the distrib. cap and rotor...you think thats whats causing my idle to be dropping?

You can check buy removing it? You can look for any gunk that may have been built up ...if it needs a cleaning you can use that electrical spraying shit. If you read other nissan forums the 240sx is notorious for having idle problems. What ended up being my problem was the spark plugs i put in...i had bosch +4platnium which would make my car idle like shit, took those out and put in NGK iridiums, problem solved. I take it your not getting any codes? Usually a O2 sensor or Maf would come up.

try cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner...make sure the tiny hole in front of the buttercly is not clogged.
