Default SR20DET problems

ok i got my car running, alternator is hooked up. no CEL codes, idles good. took it for a test drive. after some driving, it starts to die at a stop light or if i put the clutch in. have to give it some gas to keep the idle up. i'm thinking it's AIC valve. starts up, idles at 1000rpm, when O2 sensor heats up, idles perfect at 750 rpm. but after driving it, it starts to die when it idles. sometimes it will drop to about 200-300 rpm and then jump back up to around 900rpm but it dies most of the time.

also when i give it full throttle, it won't go past 5500 rpm; it just bucks and runs like shit.

specs:
redtop sr20det
t28 turbo
no bov
ngk bkr6eix plugs
spl parts o2 housing, z32 O2 sensor (fat type)
greddy downpipe, no exhaust

i'm going to check plug gap, timing, and intercooler piping for leaks. any suggestions?

Sounds like boost leak. Running like crap at high rpms points to this as well. Check all the intake and intercooler connections. Also, look around the throttle body for any ports that may have been left open.

If your car can hold 750 rpm after warming up, then it's not your IACV.

yeah i thought at first it was IACV too, but it really only wants to dip and die when clutching in while decelerating (he doesnt know heel-toe + harsh clutch + open downpipe = not best to downshift at this point). it idles perfect and a slight throttle increase does not cause any stuttering (whereas on my KA, when i had my IACV hose disconnected while prototyping a passenger side intake, it would stutter unless i blipped the throttle...

hahaha on second hand nevermind. he just walked inside and said he found the IC pipe blown off. hahaha.

god i hate not knowing SRs like you all do.

yeah turned out hot pipe blew off compressor outlet. tightened them down better with a wratchet instead of a screwdriver (screw clamps). idles good and pulls hard
