Default Car stalled after overheating

A friend of mine let her 240 idle with the ac on for about an 1.5 hours. When she got back to the car it had stalled and she said it was smoking. After it cooled down a bit she started it back up and she says it runs fine. All the fluids are good but the car now overheats when driving. Thats about all the detail I can give you at this point. Anyone know why the car might have stalled or have any advice. I'm hoping it wasnt because the engine overheated to the point where it froze up. Thanks.

WTF mate? 1.5 hours?!

If the coolant is good, then there are 2 places to look: thermostat or headgasket. From what I hear, in a 240sx, overheat = rebuild.

did she forgot it was left on by accident?

AC on.....that's a lot of heat idling.....

thermostat/cooling system toasted........or worst.....headgasket gone......

Nope. A couple months after I got my '97 (almost 2 years ago), I was having overheating problems for a couple weeks. Temp. would only go up for a few seconds after leaving driveway, then would go down to normal for the rest of the way to where ever I was going. Changed thermostat, didn't fix the problem. Noticed I was losing coolant, so I'd make sure I was filled up before leaving the house. Finally found a small leak on the bottom side of the radiator, replaced it, no problems. Runs good, no problems at all.

Noes. Mine has overheated more times than I can count. Runs fine...

Wow! People are coming out of the wood work to disprove me!

How about this:

if (overheat & no_worky)
{
headgasket = 0;
my_dollars -= 300;
}
