yea. secret services, xat racing or z fever are good local shops. there are many non-local shops to buy clips/engines. best case scenario is to be able to see and check out the motor before you buy it. here in florida we are limited because shops here tend to buy to order, so no inventory so to speak. i have been to LA area many times and most shops there have inventory so you can see what you are buying. PM me for some good shops in LA/socal area. i know my way aroung there and i go there often. my next trip is 4th of july weekend (tentative) or the week after that.

Yeah, that's why 90% of my customers are helping me with the swaps, getting dirty along side me, Heck, i'm practically MAKING them learn as they go along! That way when a minor problem or wear out part might arise, they immediatly know where it is and how to fix it!

Having a shop do your swap isn't necessarily a bad thing. People who keep their car as a daily driver can save more time by having a shop do the swap in a timely manner, and having everything done right the first time. I dont' reccomend doing the swap yourself if it's your only means of transportation to and from your job. There might always be the chance of a good hang-up that could screw you up, but with a shop doing it, it's their ass.

agreed matt. if is your daily driver, and you are uncomfortable about doing it, then by all means, have a shop do it. your approach is great, allowing owners to get dirty and have hands on while being guided by an experienced technician.

i would say that u would beat a evo like that. if u get a evo on the track it will b a good race in the 1/4 due to the evo's awd it may get the jump and if u know how to launch a 240 due to how its really hard to launch a 240 and not get alot of wheel spin.
u can't rule out a dsm like that. if anything u r talking about the right car to beat b/c the evo is the car to beat. not the sti. just don't run up on the rong evo b/c u will get ur feelings hurt.

u wanna beat ur boy's evo and show him what nismo is about. go balls to the wall then drop a rb25 in and beat his azz!!! if u go sr20 and u launch it good u will keep up if not beat him. both the 4g63 and sr20 r some sweet engines. can't go rong w/ either!! i respect nismo!! never been beat by one but on the same note i have never raced one!!

Why are we talking about nismo? An SR isnt nismo.. and RB isnt nismo.... PARTS are nismo......

also, an RB25 is an even worse idea. It has a stellar price tag, lack luster performance, sagging weight, and is just plain not practical compared to an airconditioned SR that will beat its ass silly for thousands less..
