i have a question ? if a s13 sr idles like crap (say no I/C)will the A/C compressor come on?.........dose the A/C system need to be vaccumed for the compresser to cut on?

 

The compressor is controlled by a blue w/green wire. When 12V is applied to the line, it will engage the compressor. Also, this line activates the IACV on the intake manifold.

 

IACV whats that?and every thing is wired correct i have gone over it several times,

 

Idle Air Control Valve. It diverts air past the throttle body to compensate for the added drag of the AC compressor. I'm going to do a write up on how all of the IACVs work on the SR. That is one of the parts that you really can't cross check from the various FSM scans.

 

the compressor will only cut on if theres pressure int he system. the tripple pressure switch delineates if power will go to blue/green or not.

 

Is there R12/R134 in the system? If its too low, compressor wont come on at all.
