Default SR20DE VS KA24DE and SR20DET

SR20DE the non turbo model. Compared to the DET what are the main differences? Higher compression and what else?

And would that drop into a 240 and be able to make more power NA vs the KA?

Also is the non turbo model capable of being turboed with low PSI?

Also does the SR20DE have the capability to out run the KA in the N/A application if mods were similar.

I Am assuming a tranny swap would take place along with all the same wiring for a non turbo SR if it were to go into a platform

Just had some thoughts run through my head and i was curious!

im pretty sure with a sr20de swap youd lose power, and torque, im not totally sure tho, but if youre going to go through all the effort why not just get a det? i think since the ka has .4 more liters it has a lil more torque, i could be way wrong tho.

some of the newest versions of the sr20de have 160hp stock, but why swap in an sr if its non turbo? stick with the KA

KA's suck at boost, SR20DE sucks at boost, no oil piston coolers, or other shit. SR20DET goot past 400+ HP on stock internals = A+
CA18DET good for 8 grand RPM redline sucks at rest.

isn't it true that the more displacement that you have the more torque you will have. the people at nissan believed that the ka24de was good enough to put into a truck, so why not keep the ka over the sr20de? if you are going to swap the engine out, like they said up top, might as well change it to an engine that you plan on keeping. it is retarded to keep changine out the engines. it is totally not necessary (what you think you have a ford ?)

Wow. Just... wow. KA + Boost = Good. KA has "oil piston coolers" and does have "other [good for turbo] shit." SR20DET is a great motor.. but I don't think that's the question. CA and 8k rpm... can be done with SR easily and also with a rebuilt KA. The SR-DET simply needs a couple parts to keep the valve train in check.
The sr20de is a candidate for low boost. If you are going to up it (and you will.. trust me) then the DET is where you should start. NA the KA will outrun the SR-DE in the same car. KA is 155hp/160tq, and the sr-de is 160hp/less tq. I really don't know about how the sr will respond to mods.
The SR-DE is simply weaker than the DET version. All the parts in the DET are fully overbuilt. The DE will blow at moderate boost levels.

go rb more hp more torque, can be modded to 500hp+ on stock internals with rb25+ but more money and no aluminum block like SR's same with ka they have iron blocks
if you dont like rb series engines i would go sr, more people have em and parts are more readily available than ca (but not ka)

IMHO

oh and the sr clips if u gonna buy one is expensive, u might as well go to xatracing.com and save up enough for them to build you a 450hp monster

you can use the sr20de rwd with an 52f head. you will have a higher compression though. just take out some timing. it does not have the oil squirters, but it really doesnt matter that much. and if anyone tells you otherwise they are stupid. call me up and i will explain why you are wrong.
