Well Germ, it doesn't work that way. I'm not gonna get technical cause I odn't know all my shit, but the DET's are built to hold boost, regular SR's really aren't.

sr20de bottom ends are pretty stout.....tranny might be lucky to handle 250rwhp though and suffer from something called 5th gear pop out. se-r would probably be the cheaper way to go.

fwd sr20's can hold up to 20 psi of boost before the head starts to lift, as long as the fwd sr is in good shape you can get the gtir motor for the fwd, if you want more in fo on the sr20 motors goto sr20forum. com.

what are you looking to do with the car??? do you want to drift? or just make a bad ass car that will stomp the shit outta the honda kids??

oh and it depends on which motor you want for the cars to do a swap....

the fwd has the gti-r motor the Blue bird and the avnier or you could just slap a turbo kit on it.

the rwd car has the good ole s13 or s14 they may have more youde have to ask them red top or black top.

actually its third gear that gives out.. 5th gear pop out is only common on 94 and older models. I cant recall reading about a b14 with fifth gear popout.

other than a weak 3rd gear...there is nothing holding you back from 400+whp out of the stock block. the tranny is the weak link but can be fixed with a little $$.
