Ok having a bit of a prob with my car today went to go and turn it on and it will not idel just turn right off. I can drive it but as soon as i take my foot off the gas the RPMs just drop to zero any ideas on whats going on what i need to check. please help. oh its a 92 240 stock KA

oh yeah i did try and get some of the of the oil off the engine eairler today. would it be that some of the plugs are still damp?

 

Have you checked the little crew that controls the idle?

go buy new spark plugs, wires, dist rotor, and cap. That will fix the problem =D

 

yeah i will be doing that soon but i just drove it and it seems to be fine now. First time it has done that. maybe just something was wet who knows .

 

idle air is this phillips screw on the intake manifold... cant miss it... give me a shout on AIm ill help with anything else u need..

Ahhh well kinda =/ my boy had told me that he herd it knocking saturday so i am guessing if going in its final days. just gonna drop some thicker oil in and mess with the IAC

 

well if the problem started after you tried to wash the engien then chances are you got some water into soemthing...or knocked soemthing loose. check for water in the ignition system or other sensors...and check for air leaks. both of these things will cause the exact problem you described.
