Default Stock exhaust ?'s

I noticed today there is another little muffler(resonator) before the muffler and tailpipes.

If I were to remove that smaller muffler would it make my car obnoxioulsy loud? I like my car VERY quiet. I wouldn;t mind freeing it up a tad but not at the expense of having it loud.

Does anyone know what the internals are like? Is it straigt through or is it a "turbo" style muffler with the 3 chambers inside?

Possibly a dynomax bullet in that space? Once again if there is gonna be 0 gains from it n/m. But if I can get a few ponies and almost no increase in noise sign me up.

any ideas?

oh it is....I just have a bad habit of tinkering. I want to squeeze every possible hp out of it without it becoming visibly or audibly annoying.

and not to mention replace any part that is worn out or broken. Even though it's a beat-R I refuse to drive junk.

C'mon, it's only 20 or 30 bucks with fans from the Junkyard, with that minimal outlay I think it deserves a good 5 hp from the butt dyno to make up for the time invested in yanking the fans.
