Default KA SSPL ROm Tune ...more testing!!!

Thanks to funk stuffs for donation of a well running S13 KA!!! Matt's has always been non-normal so we needed a normal car for further beta testing.

with a cone filter, test pipe, and N1 Dual Exhaust only on a stock S13 KA heres what we did.

notice the smooth AFR's all the way across!! notice how BAD the stock program is!!! Needless to say i was surprised with the results. you dont usually get this much gain out of an NA engine. this is truly amazing!!!

Rev limit is changeable.
Speed limit is removeable.
Tip in retard is eliminated.

As you can see it only took 9 dyno pulls to tune the car!!!

yeah i'm curious as to what i'd find with

Intake
Some sort of exhaust
a hotshot header
EGR removal
Cat gutting or replacement
bumped timing (already have)
Rom Tune

If I could equal the power that my integra is making (168fwhp) I'd be really happy with my KA!

EGR shouldnt be much of a difference seeing as it doesnt work at WOT anyways.

I'm so excited about this KA rom tune. It'll definatly be the way to go for KA guys. JWT was an acceptable option until this dyno-tuned ECU became available. Way to go guys!

the mad scientist wants me to swing by, so im going thursday...we'll see what power i'll get out of a ka with:
-cams
-shotpeened rods
-header-3"exhaust-apexi N1
-K&N filter
-port & polished head-match ported intake-5angle valvejob
-solid lifter conversion
-titanium valves-springs
-unorthodox underdrive pulley
-370cc injectors
-ignition system
-and other shit i can't remember right now.
Matt has been "Begging" me to do rom tune instead of S-afc lol, so we'll see about it! I'll post the dyno results.

i'd definately like to see what they get out of it seeing as you probably are running a little rich due to your 370 injectors (unless you already have them at -33% if u already have the s-afc installed). im also curious as to what cams you have, since
s13 > s14 when it comes to cams...PDM? JWT? custom?
and im sure with the 5 way P&P job and the upgraded valvetrain, it should be able to rev a tad higher and flow some more with the combined upgraded cams.

btw, what is a solid lifter conversion? KA's dont have 'lifters' its direct shim under bucket valve train. you can upgrade the cams, retainers, valves, and springs, and i guess get the right shims but im not following you on this particular mod.

haha thanks matt...im a sohc-er bro, a oncer if you will...
my cams were custom ground (270/270) by crane cams on the east coast (daytona i believe), my ecu is currently tuned by JWT, but its not dyno tested, so im sure matt can get a little bit more out of it. i also have a walbro 255lph fuel pump...but i removed that due to the highly rich mixture.
i removed a LOT of my emissions when i just did my head gasket replacement. So we'll see if those things will yeild us a few rwhp.
My redline now is 7800, but i might want to bump the beast up a tad :o i just need a new speedo to see how fast im goin! lol mine only goes to 115, and i can hit that in 4th at about 5k rpm lol
