Default coolant temp sensor question

The coolant temp. sensor that screws into the top part of the intake manifold and controls the temp. gauge on the gauge cluster, Is there a difference between the S13 and the S14 sensor?

are you wondering if you can hardwire the s13 sensor into the s14 or vice versa? because you could just go to XAT, im sure they have an extra cut harness or engine layin around that you could snag it off of.

I just put one from an S13 on my S14 cause the metal piece you slide the connector onto snapped.I was basically wondering if they read different or anything like that because now my coolant gauge goes straight to hot.So i was wondering if that was the problem or if i need to replace my thermostat. Thanks for your help

The car runs fine no symptoms of over heating, the needle just sits up around H.Felt radiator cap and top of radiator but it just felt warm and the cap still kind of felt cool.So i figure the S13 plug reads different?
