Default building a na z32

I am thinking about building up my na Z. I wanted to drop a vg30dett in it but i believe that the vg30de is more practical for me. Right now i have your typical intake, exhaust, pulley. I was just wondering about some internal parts... rods, pistons ,etc. I was thinking about doing JE pistons with eagle rods. Is that a good combo or what would be a better set - up for a non-turbo Z? A lot of work would be done to the motor besides internals. What kind of setups do some people have.... cams also, who has jwt cams in their na? what kind of gains have people seen on their na's?

you can do it, build it up for nitrous.
ppl dont get that n/a Z's can be fast too.
call up shops and companys and see what parts will work with your setup and etc. find out about the deck clearence and etc. just don some research. 300zxfoums.com and twinturbo.net is a good place to ask questions.
also go to alot of all motor shops that does work on SBC's and fords, etc. the good shops know how to make power out of n/a motors like this.
ive seen close to 450rwhp w/o the bottle on a n/a Z.. its just the right type of parts and TUNING!
best of luck and dont skimp on parts.. buy the best and you will be fine.. skimp and that shit will blow up..

Yeah thanks, I go on tt.net a lot and have been debating whether to go tt or built non-turbo for a long time now. Everyone will just tell me that na's cant be fast and just sell my na and buy a tt. Well, i like my 2+2 , i finally got it looking nice and now i just want to make it faster- plus im a student and can't afford putting down that kind of money all at once.just getting the experiece and learning with building up the n/a i think would be cool. It all depends how fast i can get it before i decide whether to run nitrous or not.

You can run nitrous on stock stuff..that way you have the system in the car and working properly...just shoot lose doses of it...get a feel for spraying and then when you build the engine....up the spray (once the engine is broken in)...I mean 20-30HP is not bad....and you will feel the diff when ya hit the button....

a n/a will deff be more money, but why be like everybody else? plus the n/a's sound WAY better then the TT's.
i say go n/a and when its done you can go out hunting for those ass's that said to sell your car and etc.. and beat them in a n/a that they said could never be fast.
plus less insurence too!

unfortunatly you'll never beat one of those guys in the tt's, because with just an ecu and 14psi, youre running mid to low 12s.
then it's ' sucks to be you' time!

ive seen 12 sec n/a Z's and even 11sec ones... they not be on all the big internet forums but there out there.
Z32's arent ment for drag racing anyways.. road racing is where there at home and a well tuned n/a would do very well out there with a good driver.
i still say n/a.. with nitrous it can be a pretty thing.
