g35 is not skyline

theyre talking about launching this thing in the US

that skyline is so far off that I would highly doubt if it was close to the concept you see before you.

also, its gonna be a wait and see thing with the new skyline. past generations were considered incredibly good cars stock, and with a tuner's assistance, you could easily triple the stock HP on a stock block motor.

unless nissan pulls together some good reasoning, it may be nothing more than a magazine cover car for a while...and may never have the accolades that the past generations have rightfully earned.

 

the g35 is a skyline....i lived there when they came out so u could see them on the streets....they are the newest skyline you can buy right now...its hard to believe....but it came out right after nissan got its new owner.....who is obviously screwing things up big time....all he cares about is pleasing magazines and trying to make everything look good....he doesn't care about the history of these cars and what they was known for....he stoped production of the s15s last year....so unless they plan on making a new silvia...there wont be one no more....i think the reason they are waiting till 07 to release this car is because they dont want it to come out and compete with the 350z and they are trying to get their money's worth with the g35...i think nissan is gonna do what mazda did with the rx8....make all this hype and make it look nice then when it comes out it'll be all lame....it'll be the 350z all over again...

 

The reason the new owner is there is to FIX NISSANS FINANCIAL PROBLEMS!!!

The skyline and S15 are dead because having all these 10's of millions of factories churning out DIFFERENT motors for cars that probablly wont sell in mass numbers is a bad financial plan!!

Hence why everything now almost always uses the same engine (VQ) or a derivetave of that motor! (QR). Its all about money, and until nissan is on its feet again, they prob wnt make any "spectacular" cars.... The other companies in japan are either also in money problems, or they just dont wanna waste the money to try and keep up (like in the 90's).

HISTORY is ALWAYS < MONEY

what engines came in glorias?? i forgot....but i know that many cars had the same engines and most parts are interchangeable...
like the older model skylines and cefiros both had rb20s...nissan must be in one hell of a hole to make everything use the same engine and drivetrain...but isnt that the whole point of interchangeablity....(is that even a word?) if they would do what all the other companies do.....sell the same shit in other countries...they'd be doing a lil bit better....but then u'd actually skylines in junk yards here or run down in used car lots(2fast2furious dvd)...that would kinda suck though...

 

I think i can clear up a couple things at least....

As mentioned, G35s are skylines(350 gt) with almost no differences at all. Just becuase it is not a GTR and doesnt have an RB, doesnt mean its not a skyline.

There is an AWD G35x which will be available in less than a month, but here is the kicker, its only on automatic non sport package 4 door ones. I know because i worked at infiniti untill last week.

The new GTR is most likely going to have a TT 3.3 engine in japan and a big (5+ liter) v8 in many other countries including the US and wont be here for a while

 

oooh oooh, I want to hear someone argue skylines with the skyline owner and (former) Infiniti employee! haha

Nissan did dig a big hole in the late 90's. Look at their lineup in 97-98... S14 silvia, S13 180sx, 300zx, skyline... and those are just the performance cars. Not to mention the upteen different models of each.

By the way, that's the funniest looking Miata ever!
