240Z with SR Swap :)
Hi all. The car in terms of $$ ... hard to say even for me. I just ordered stuff as needed. Figure a whole entire SR swap w/ VSPL front mount, AFC, AVCR, Walbro 255, Intake, 300ZX MAFS, a little wiring work
, paint job, assembly time !! Bumpin... The car is a 1971 240Z which was carberauted !! No ECU even in this car.. ever. No wiring harness ... ever.
The first ones to use injection were 280Z's in the early 80's. You could get a 280Z in a Turbo.

Martin

btw stock motor was i-6 2.4 L of course with dual mikunis. 140 HP 132 Tq if i remember correctly. Here is the kicker... the original 240Z had a 160 MPH speedo !!.. Later years went down to 85 to 120. Give a 240Z enough road and proper tune it would get going very fast eventually.

I posted the pictures of the car over on TwinTurbo.Net and it has garnered quite a bit of praise. Feel free to check it out @ SR Powered 240Z on TTNet
Congrats again.

I don't believe there was a turbo 240z made Kris, the 280zx (L28ET) responds roughly the same with boost (on it's 60trim t3) 15psi is about 250whp on both motors.
The SR is clearly a more technologicly advanced motor, but the torque compared to an L28 is nothing. Although with that light of a car, who needs 300ft/lbs of torque @ 15psi?

Beautiful car, I'd love to see a race between that car once its all tuned out, and Darius's 240z for those of you who don't know Darius's car, it was made well known by a video circulating the internet here's a few pics:

Ya.. but a stock SR with the parts that are on it makes 260-270 foot pounds of torque .... Not bad... for a 2.0L
