I wouldn't call that a disaster yet either, from what I've seen on the Sentra forums it's taking turbo kits fairly well. (as well as a high strung 4 cyl. can ) One guy was running close to 300whp for over 4 months now IIRC. This on an engine that their just starting to get aftermarket attention.

yeah but the problem is that its a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder that needs blaance shafts etc etc etc , low rev limit.

its nowhere near as wonderful as the sr was in design.

yes 300whp but its 2.5 L
..
b16a's do 280WHP on the stock block all day long with turbo kits!!

I don't think the SR will ever fade. Good engines don't just die out. Maybe I jsut think that cause there's a fresh SR sitting in my garage.

I think Peter Cunningham's pushing like close to 250 n/a whp. Not bad for a relatively new engine, but then again, what do I know....I'm retarded.

the only good thing about all this is finally Japan is stuck with the same motors we are, so hopefully they'll be able to pull some magic with tuning and parts to keep the new motors competitive.

dude, the sr will never die, look at the 4age from toyota, the last production 4ag was in '90, yet because of drift and the jdm life style opsession giong on and the popularoty of the ae86 wich is almost 20 years old the 4ag will probably never fade. And the s-chassis sr combination is just to good to through away!!I predict that the sr and s13 will be popular for many years to come!! and as long as i'm out drifting people will watch and want to do the same!!!

the real question is if they did come out with a badass bullet proof tt I8 MR car for a price of lets say about $35,000. would you be able to buy one. look at the evo and the sti. everyone said they need to bring them over, but 99% of those people will never buy one or even own one for that matter.

but nissan isnt over yet. as i see it the majority of the people buying nissans are getting used ones which really doesnt help nissan. i say give it about 5 years before the come out with another 300hp car that is tuner friendly after all the emissions are taken out and you can crack the code on the ecu to accept big boost and increased hydrocarbons.

just to clear some things up- the 95-01 maximas were never turbo. The gloria and the cima I belive used this engine. And the vq30de is not that bad of an engine. Theres a guy on the org that imported a vq30det from japan... then put all of the internal parts needed to make it a reliable turbo car and hes putting down over 400hp. I cant find that one but heres a different one
